John’ notes; I composed this Latin style melody by using notes from the underlying Triad chords (the 1st, 3rd and 5th) plus notes from the chord scales. This composing method will always result in a ‘melodic’ melody that fits nicely over a chord being played. This is why learning the ‘A’ shape, ‘E’ shape and ‘D’ shape chords ‘built in’ scales are worth the effort.
