John’s notes: Welcome to the world of ‘Big Band’ music. (Frank Sinatra, Tommy Dorsey, Duke Ellington. Buddy Rich. Michael Bublé) to name just a few. This tune was (and is) a global best seller and epitomises the jazzy feel good ‘Swing’ genre. ‘Swing’ music is basically 4/4 time but emphasing the beats 2 & 4 of each measure. I’ve avoided using complex ‘jazz’ chords so you can enjoy playing common chords at a reasonably fast tempo. Practice at a tempo (speed) you can manage then build up to playing along with the Backing Tracks…..Have fun !
